Rosa Parks was arrested for not moving to the back of the bus so a white person could sit there, This prompted African Americans to boycott the busses. -
Greensboro/ Nashville sit- ins
African Americans were told to leave the lunchroom but refused, so they were arrested and sent to jail. Adults decided to boycott stores/ restaraunts as a result. This prompted the government to allow blacks to sit there now. -
March on Birmingham
The goal was to end segregation. However, that did not happen; as a result the jails in the city were filled with African Americans. -
March on Washington
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. gave a speech to Americans about equality. He wanted there to be no more segregation in America. -
