Abraham Lincoln was elected for pesident. He went against John C. Brackinridge. He was the 16th president of the United States. -
The Emancipation Proclamation
This was issued by the President of the United States that on January 1, 1863 all the slaves would have freedom. -
13-14-15th Amendment
These amendmeants said there would be no more slavery, citizens should have their rights, and race no bar to vote. -
Seccession
The Vice President Hannibal Hamlin and Andrew Johnson would take over after Abrahams death. -
Formation of the Ku Kluz Klan
Congress had passed the Ku Kluz Act and it gave the President power to intervene in troubled states. -
The Election of 1876
The election between Rutherford B. Hayes and Samuel J. Tilden. It took awhile to determine who would be elected. -
Civil Rights cases of 1883
Between 1866 and 1875 the Congress passed several civil rights acts to implement the 13th and 14th amandments. -
Jim Crow Laws
This included segregation in schools, public places, restrooms, resturants, transpirtation, and the U.S military.
