Limewire and copyright battle
When Napster came online in 1999, it took the world by storm as the premier site to "share" audio and video files. When it started facing legal action and was ultimately shut down in 2001, Limewire emerged as its successor, leading the charge in sharing/downloading audio and video, as well as BitTorrent downloads. Many a friend of mine downloaded a virus trying to get the latest album or movie release. -

Windows XP
Just a year after releasing Windows 2000, Windows XP was released, and became one of the most loved Windows operating systems. Easy to use, performance speed, and reliability allowed it to be popular up until its "end of life" in 2014. -
Myspace created
In 2003, Myspace made waves as the first social media platform to gain global popularity. Nobody on with an account was ever alone. Everyone's first Myspace "friend" was founder Tom Anderson. -
First iPhone released
In 2004, Apple began development what what would eventually be the iPhone. Apple CEO Steve Jobs unveiled the iPhone in 2008 in San Francisco in his typical dramatic fashion. The first iPhones came in 4GB and 8GB, at a cost of $500 and $600, respectively. -
Bitcoin and the rise of Cryptocurrency
Still shrouded in mystery, the person or entity known as Satoshi Nakamoto invented Bitcoin, a "currency" created by a computer "mining" coins by solving different computational puzzles.
