    When Napster came online in 1999, it took the world by storm as the premier site to "share" audio and video files. When it started facing legal action and was ultimately shut down in 2001, Limewire emerged as its successor, leading the charge in sharing/downloading audio and video, as well as BitTorrent downloads. Many a friend of mine downloaded a virus trying to get the latest album or movie release.
