First Windows

1975

In 1975 the first Windows pc ever invented was called the Altair 8800 microcomputer. This was the beginning of the windows PC era. Windows dominated the PC era for 9 years before the first macintosh was invented.

Atari computer system

1977

Thanks to two inventors Nolan Bushnell and Ted Dabney, the first gaming console was invented. This is important to the history of computers because this allowed the beginnings of video games.

Laserdisc

1978

The laserdisc was the first was for a movie to be transported via a CD or a DVD. The "discovision" was created by MCA and Phillips. This is important because of the quick technological advancements.

Seagate hardrive

1980

This is the first hard drive disk that is being invented for microcomputers. This disk holds 5 megabytes of memory, which at the time was a lot. This began the idea of something being able to hold memory and was important to what the future might come up with.

First macOS

1984

The first macOS was invented in 1984 by the famous Steve Jobs. This is important to our computer history because this began the divide between Windows and macOS.
