    While the WorldWideWeb project was created in 1991, the first release to the general public was in 1993, thus revolutionizing the way the internet worked. Content was now free to be shared through browsers.

    Developed by and agreed to by multiple companies including Sony, Panasonic, Philips, Toshiba, Hitachi, JVC, and more, this format paved the way for large data storage allowing for larger application, more personal storage, and faster data access. It was also pretty amazing that so many companies were able to agree upon one standard.

    Many contributions were made to the wi-fi standard in use today but credit normally goes to a dual effort from NCR Corporation and AT&T Corporation for the technology that led to the standard called WaveLAN. Wi-Fi was to the internet what cordless phones were to home telephones. With Wi-Fi you were now able to put your computer anywhere in your home and still get internet. This led to internet cafe's and a much more mobile surfing experience.
