In 1485 Columbus proposed the royalty of Spain to give him ships and men for his expedition. Again his proposal was declined. -

Approved Proposal!
Finally after already trying to persuade the royalty of Spain for six years Queen Isabella from Spain finally approved his proposal and she risked her money and even her finest jewels for Columbus to have three ships and a crew of men for his expedition. -

On August 13 Columbus sailed away with three ships departing from Puerto de Palos Spain. -
