The congress of the united states dicided to elect the general Hortio Gates instead of Philip Schuyler who took the blame for loosing Ticonderoga. Gates armey confronted the brittish armey and got them into a retreat. He had to leave his armey to fight for itself for he had suffered injury and had to go to the nearest hospitle. Siege of Charleston
"American casualties in the siege were 89 killed, 138 wounded, and 2,571 Continental army soldiers captured." Another 1,000 militia were also taken."This battle was the largest greatest defeat for the Americans of the war." The British suffered only 76 killed and 189 wounded." When the brittish captured charleston there was little to no people that were fighting the british to save South Carolina.
