    The Boxer Rebellion

    The Boxer Rebellion was a violent anti-foreign and anti-Christian uprising that occurred near the end of the Qing Dynasty. this uprising was initiated by the Milita, The Russian Forces, United in righteousness.
  • The 'Three Principles of the People'

    The Three principles of the people is a philosophy developed by Sun Yat-Sen. The Three principles consist of Nationalism, Democracy and the livelihood of the people. In 1894 Sun only had four principles, it wasn't until his three year trip ( 1896-1898) that he picked up the third one and he did not announce the third one until 1905.

    The Wuchang Uprising
    The Wuchang Uprising started the Xinhai Revolution, ended the Qing Dynasty and in turn ushered in the Republic of China.
    This event was caused by the poor handling of a rail way crisis and later turned into an uprising when the revolutionaries went up against the Qing Dynasty with the help of New Army.

    The Long March

    The Long March was a military retreat by the Red Army of the Chinese Communist Party. The CCP used secrecy and tatics to confuse the Nationalists and it was several weeks before they realised that most of the Communists had fled. Out of the 85,000 that marched, 8,000 made it to Northern Shaanxi.
  • The breaking of the Second United Front Agreement

    The breaking of the Second United Front Agreement
    The Second united front was a brief alliance between the Chinese Nationalist Party and the Chinese Communist Party. This alliance was due to the fact that they both needed the help of each other to resist the Japanese invasion during the second Sino-Japanese War. In Dec 1940,Chiang Kai-Shek demanded that The Communist Parties New Fourth Army evacualted the two provinces and the commander complied but they were ambushed by Nationalist troops and were defeated in Jan 1941, ending the United Front.
