Massachusetts 1838
Massachusetts creates the first child labor law requiring factory children under 15 to go to schools minimum of 3 months per year (stopchildlabor.org) This shows kids don't have a lot of education because 3 months is not enough school, school years are about 10 months. -
Massachusetts 1842
Massachusetts limits children to work ten hours a day. Many states do the same but are not consistent in enforcing their laws.(stopchildlabor.org). This shows children don't have to work whay to much in some places but in some they do. -
Working men's party
The working men's party proposes prohibiting the employment of children younger than 14.(stopchildlabor.org). This means less kids might work in factories and mines. This could be less child labor. -
Mary Harris Jones
In 1903 labor leader Mary Harris Jones went to Pennsylvania to support a strike.About 10000 of the strikers were children. (2nd to last source)

Amendment to Fair labor standards act
This directly prohibits child labor for the first time.(Stopchildlabor.org) America is getting better because this is less child labor.
