Child labor started in the early 1700s.Children worked to provide money for there family so they could survive.Children were only payed a small amount of mony not even a dollar a day.children were hired because it was easier for adults to control them and they would not go on strike as much. -
finding a job
Children who had factory jobs worked 12 to 18 hours six days a week.Most kids parents wanted them to have a job in a farm. On the other hand there were also mines they were all dangerous jobs but this is probably one of the most dangerous ones. -
Hard work
By 1810 2 million school age children were working 45 to 75 hour a week.Many of them were from poor familes. -
shorter working hours
Workin hours were shortended from 1802 to 1878. Britain was the first to fully acept the law.Those laws also improved working conditions and raised the age that children could work under.Some other european countries adopted the laws too. -

Many children were killed in a horrible event called the triangle shirtwaist factory fire.Triangle shirtwaist factory fire was a fire that started because of a cigarette tthat cause alot of people to die because of less privlages.Some died by falling out of a elevator shaft ,some died fromthe locked doors and also jumping out of the windows.This caused many not to like child labor . -

Congress passed a child labor law but the supreme court declared them unconstitutional. -
FREEDOM
In 1938 the U.S passed the fair standard law and it cured all the evil horror they put poor children in. -
The work to end child labor
Child labor was a very hard desion for people in the 1900s .So the made the national child labor comittee.Other wise known as the NCLC.They determined whether they should regulate it or not.
