    in his early years, he was exposed to the art of acting due to his parents being famous actors. he got his chance to join a group, named Eight Lancashire Lads in 1897.

    in 1918 charlie switched studios accepting a $1 million offer from the First National Film Corporation for eight shorts, in the same year he married a 16 year old film extra, Mildred Harris. his first shorts Shoulder Arms (1918), The Pilgrim (1923) and The Kid (1921)
