This introduces charlie's family, and it also introduces that the family is indeed very poor based on how the house looks. -
Outside, people crowding around a pole.
This shows that 5 lucky people are going to be sent to the chocolate factory. -
Charlie's house, Charlie realizes his dad lost his job.
Charlie's father lost his job, and this is part of the rising action because it makes Charlie want to help his father out. -
Charlie's birthday, inside of Charlie's house.
Charlie's mother and father give him his birthday present. When he unveils it, there is only chocolate, nothing more. This seems to almost make Grandpa Joe more determined to get the ticket for Charlie. -
Grandpa Joe reveals that he has money, Charlie's house
This shows that Grandpa Joe wants that golden ticket as much as Charlie. It contributes to the rising action because that shows if Charlie does happen to get a ticket, then he will want to come with him. -
Charlie gets the golden ticket, sweet shop
Charlie gets the golden ticket after discovering a 10 pound note and finds out he is going to the factory tomorrow. This is the rising action of the story. -
Outside the factory, with all the other kids and their parents and then meeting Willy Wonka
Charlie and Grandpa Joe are waiting outside the factory, and then get to meet Willy Wonka. This is another part of the rising action, but also kind of exposition because it is showing another character. -
Inside the factory - chocolate room
Augustus Gloop falls into the chocolate river and gets sucked up by the pipe. This is another part of the rising action because there are 4 children left, and this implies that the children will get picked off one by one until only one remains. -
Violet gets turned into a blueberry, inside the chocolate factory
One more kid meets her fate, and Mike Teavee, Charlie, and Veruca by this point are the only ones left. This shows that one of these three will take home the prize. -
Veruca falls down the Garbage chute, nut room
Veruca salt gets attacked by squirrels and falls into the garbage chute, along with Mr Salt. Now Mike and Charlie are the only two left. This shows that either Mike or Charlie will win, and then Mr. Wonka will tell one of them what they have won. -
Mike Teavee turns small, inside of chocolate factory.
Mike Teavee gets sucked up into the machine that puts him in the television, Mike's father has to pull him out of the TV and takes him to the taffy puller to get stretched out. This is one of the last parts of the rising action, as all of the other children are gone and now it is about time for the climax. -
Charlie wins, inside of TV Room.
Charlie wins the contest, and Mr. Wonka goes back to the home using the Great Glass Elevator. This is the last rising action before the climax of the story, and this is the final action which contributes to forming the climax. -
Charlie's house, Mr Wonka reveals what Charlie has won
This is the climax of the story. Mr. Wonka tells Charlie that his prize is the entire factory. This is exciting or contributes to the climax because it shows that Charlie will no longer be poor. -
Charlie's decision, inside of Charlie's house.
Mr. Wonka tells Charlie that he cannot go to the factory unless his family doesn't come with him. Charlie then says he wouldn't trade his family for all of the chocolate in the world. This is another part of the climax because it tells the viewers that Charlie won't actually live in the factory now. -
Mr Wonka leaves the house, leaving Charlie and his family with no prize.
This is the final part of the climax, and Mr Wonka leaves, and now Charlie doesn't get the factory. And then Grandma Georgina tells Charlie that things will get a lot better. -
Charlie's house, how things are now.
This is the falling action. Charlie's dad got a new job by fixing the robot that replaced him, and everything is going great. This makes it closer to the resolution. -
Charlie bumps in to Mr. Wonka, on the street.
Charlie finds Mr. Wonka and then tells him that he should find his dad. This falling action shows that Mr. Wonka should patch up past things with his father. -
Middle of Nowhere, inside Wonka's father's house.
Charlie notices some newspaper clippings of Wonka news. This shows that even though his dad was mad at him for having a chocolate career at first, he was still proud of him. This is almost the resolution of the movie. -
Willy patches things up with his father, inside Wilbur Wonka's house.
Wilbur Wonka realizes that his patient is really his son. Then they hug each other and Charlie and Willy depart. This is one of the parts of the resolution in the story. -
Inside of the factory and inside of Charlie's house
The final part of the story is that Willy Wonka lets Charlie's family in because he patched things up with his father. So the resolution is that they all get to live in the factory.
