Peirce was better known for his philosophy of Pragmatism. He shares that it is, “one of several ways of fixing beliefs” (Tikkanen). Our beliefs are basically habits based of our actions. Pragmatism became popular in the early 1900s and its movement was not accepting in Peirce’s eye of how it was practiced. He spent most of his remaining life doing a “radical revision and systematic completion” of what he calls Pragmatism. (Tikkanen). -
