    Charles Lindbergh was born February 4th, 1902 in Detroit, Illinois. At the age of 25, he was the first to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean.

    On the morning of May 20th, at 7:52, Lindbergh took off near New York and started his epic journey amid the Spirit of St. Louis.

    Word of the Orteig prize, awarded to the first person to fly nonstop from NY to Paris, got out. Lindbergh convinced 9 men to help provide finances for him to create his own airplane.The plane was then named the Spirit of St. Louis.

    Lindbergh is famously known as the Lone Eagle for his transatlantic trip. in 1927, Lindbergh published a book about this journey. He went on to contribute to our technological advancements in many different ways.
