Charles Darwin leaves England to never return for 5 years
Charles Darwin leaves England to never return on the HMS Beagle. Darwin was recommended by Professor Henslow to a Captain Fitzroy who wanted a Naturalist to join in an expedition that turned into a 5-year journey. Darwin documented with writings and drawings through this journey that ultimately developed his ideas and questions about life in the past to how it changed and become the now.

The Structure and Distribution of Coral Reefs
Darwin's Theory of island formations had to deal with the upward growths of coral as the Pacific Ocean gradually subsided. Darwin had a notebook that he labeled Santiago Book. He was either on a residence ashore or on the HMS Beagle at the time of observation. In his writing it dealt with European and Chilean formations with the Pacific Coral Reefs. Corals Reefs were treated as the evidence for subsidence rather than formations.
  • Theory of Evolution by Natural Selection

Theory of Evolution by Natural Selection
Charles Darwin's Theory of Evolution by Natural Selections precluded that Organisms that are more adapted to their environment are more likely to survive and pass on the genes that aided their success. There are four principles to evolution which are variation, inheritance, selection and time. A quick example of natural selection would be giraffes necks, a shorter neck won't be able to reach a food source which would likely not survive over one with a long neck.

    Publishing Origin of Species
Charles Darwin published a book that he did not use the word Evolution but instead correlated the common relation between man and ape. Evolution was not a new concept as Darwin's grandfather who drew the first evolutionary diagram between one-celled organism and humans. Darwin's Theory was more practical for the theory on evolution. Once Darwin published his works, it was immediately embraced by other Scientist as it solved a bunch of puzzles of biological science.
