The Trip That Started It All

Darwin became part of the Beagle Voyage, which included sailing to Galapagos. His voyage was one that made a huge impact on his views about natural history. As a result, he came to form his theory of evolution. When visiting different islands, Darwin noticed that the unique species were similar from island to island, which led him to wonder of their origin. During his voyage, he collected several natural specimens that were used in his research to show that species evolved from common ancestors.
