    Birth
    Charles Darwin was born on February 12th, 1809 in Shrewsbury, England. Charles Darwin was the fifth of six children in his family. He had 4 sisters named Marianne, Caroline, Susan, Emily and 1 brother named Erasmus. Emily was the youngest of the group. Charles Darwin mainly kept to himself as a child, didn't get into trouble and would go on little exploration walks in his free time and collect anything he found interesting. His father built their house in Shrewsbury, England.

    After being taken out of his previous school at Shrewsbury, Charles Darwin was sent to the University of Edinburgh to study medicine. He was originally taken out of Shrewsbury school because Charles Darwin found the school classical and narrow. Although, Charles Darwin eventually left the University of Edinburgh without a degree and went to the University of Cambridge.
  • Sailing

    Sailing
    Charles Darwin was hired as a naturalist to the ship called HMS Beagle. They set sail on the HMS Beagle from Plymouth England for the next five years where Charles Darwin will collect samples of rocks, plants, animals, etc. While he was at Bahia in South America, he would explore the area, take notes and take sample of things in the jungle. They took the Beagle along the coast many times just to explore the land there.

    Charles Darwin publishes his book "On the Origin of Species," where he talks about his theory of evolution. He didn't publish these books either until 20 years later and kept notes about the theory of evolution, He believed that descended species eventually developed modifications to help with natural selection.

  • Death

    Death
    After his first son William was born, Charles Darwin became sick and weak. It followed with him throughout his life until he was older. When he was older, his health improved so he was able to enjoy some years with his wife/cousin, Emma Wedgewood, and see his fully grown kids. Charles Darwin's health once again got worse and he had a heart attack on Christmas and later had seizures. He eventually passed away on April 10, 1882 at Down House in England.
