Charles Darwin
Born on February 12th, 1809 in Shrewsbury, England. Darwin was known for many things such as a naturalist, biologist, and geologist, but the main contribution he is known for is his joint publication with Alfred Wallace of The Origin of Species. Darwin traveled and studied many things, but bugs, birds, and fossils were his main interests. His theory on evolution astounded many. A great number of people did not believe that a species could change at all. -
Darwin's Journey on The Beagle1831-1836
Because of Darwin's dislike for school in general regardless of how smart he was, his parents sent him off on a 5-year long voyage on the ship called The Beagle. Across his journey, he begins to see the evolution and natural selection unfold right in front of him. -
Elected into the Royal Society
One of the most prestigious scientific societies, Darwin is elected into it at age 30 years. -
Darwin's "Origin's of Species"
Charles Darwin had been wary of publishing anything until he had cold hard facts and experience with evolution. By 1844 he had already concluded all of his ideas based on his voyage on The Beagle, but he knew he could not work against the main creation of life in a biblical sense. His book mainly focused on beetles, finches, pigeons, barnacles, and fossils, which makes sense, considering that is what he studied on his trip around on the ship. -
Begins the publication process of Origin of Species
After being confronted by Alfred Russel Wallace to start publishing his work as well as publishing a short summary of Darwin's ideas, he finally starts to write it out himself. -

Crash Course on Darwin and Natural Selection
I really enjoy CrashCourse on youtube, it is a quick and very educational channel if you are a visual and auditory learner. This video in particular gives a perfect rundown about Darwin's theory of natural selection.
