    From a very young age, Charles Darwin was fascinated with nature and wildlife. In his free time, he would spend time exploring the woodlands and fields around his home. He would collect various plants and insects and examine them.   • Charles Darwin / Education

    In 1825 Charles Darwin was enrolled in the University of Edinburgh, a medical school located in Scotland. At this school, he would bear witness to live surgery on people and become​ severely traumatized. The brutal and barbaric surgeries would cause Charles Darwin to quit his studies and leave the school before ever completing his studies.   • Life Changing Adventure

    Darwin's life changed forever when he embarked on a five-year-long voyage across the sea. In 1831 Charles Darwin boarded the HMS Beagle; along the journey,​ Charles Darwin collected many animals, plants, and fossils to study and add to his collection.     In 1859 Darwin published his first book about evolution called “On the Origin of Species” His theory suggests that the strongest and most fit organisms possess​ the necessary traits and characteristics that are best suited for their unique environment. These creatures with the most useful adaptations are more than likely to survive and pass their genetic blueprint to their offspring.
