    Darwin departed on HMS Beagle. He was employed as a naturalist with the purpose to survey the South American Coastline to map harbors. During that time ashore he took samples and kept journals of his findings.

    Publishing of "On the Origin of Species"
    After his return from his voyage on HMS Beagle, Darwin spent his time studying his collection of samples from South America. During his studies he found information that suggested species change over great amounts of time and the world was older than originally estimated. This brought forth the Theory of Natural Selection in regards to the process of Evolution.

    Darwin became ill after a series of Heart Attacks that resulted in his death at the age of 73 from a coronary thrombosis.
