Voyage on HMS Beagle
It is during this voyage around the globe that Darwin made his most significant research that laid the foundations for his theory of evolution. From his observations, Darwin later came up with the process of natural selection and evolution, which was in direct confrontation with creationism. As much as Copernic or Galileo “moved” Earth to its correct place, Darwin ultimately put Man at its rightful place on the tree of evolution. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nmpVVJTWO8Q -
Work: On the Origin of Species
In 1859, Charles Darwin published his main work where he explained the process of natural selection, and offered a new vision of the theory of evolution. Although his theory was published in 1859, he had already conceptualized it around 20 years before, and spent those years strengthening his research. Darwin, Charles, 1809-1882. On The Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection, or Preservation of Favoured Races in the Struggle for Life. London :John Murray, 1859. -
Work: The Descent of Man, and Selection in Relation to Sex

This work notably includes a controversial section on sexual selection, and the place of women in our society as heritage from nature. Darwin, Charles. The Descent of Man: And Selection in Relation to Sex. London: J. Murray, 1871. -
Work: The Expression of the Emotions in Man and Animals

Murray, 1872. -
Work: The Power of Movement in Plants
In this book, Darwin addresses the mechanisms that plants use to react to external stimuli, and he studies in more detail how plants react to light (phototropism). Darwin, Charles. The Power of Movement in Plants. London: J. Murray, 1880. -
