On December 27, 1831 Darwin began a 5 year voyage around the world on the HMS Beagle as a naturalist. During this five year survey trip Darwin collected and studied a variety of species including birds and plants. -
Zoology of the Voyage of the Beagle
Darwin's findings and research were published in "Zoology of the Voyage of the Beagle". The first portion of the book (which was 5 parts) was published in February 1838 -
