Charles Robert Darwin was born in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, England on 12 February 1809 at his family home, the Mount. Charles was the fifth child born in his family. He was born in shrewbury england, and was named after his uncle. Charles was a shy, but very energetic boy who would love to show off his athlethic skills. Unfortunantly at the age of eight his mother passed. -

Darwin attended this university to study medicine. He attended university lectures, but complained about it being boring. Darwins father did not want him to go astray so then decided taht his son will persue a career in medical school. Darwin regularly attended clinical wards in the hospital despite his great distress about some of the cases. -
First Discovery
At the age of 18, Darwin put in his first report on a dicovery. He would then go on to give a speech on his dicovery about larva of sea-mats can swim. Darwin made a discovery new to science when he observed cilia moving the microscopic larvae of a species of the bryzoan Flustra. -
Charles Darwin First Speech to the Geological Society of London
This was Darwins big day. He was in front of all the experts in geology, needless to say he was nervous. His speech was on the increase of landmass of south america, and how it raises the nearby ocean floors. Darwin read his first paper to the Geological Society of London on 4 January 1837, arguing that the South American landmass was slowly rising. -
