    Theory of Natural Selection
While he was writing his book on Natural Selection in 1858 a British naturalist Alfred Russel Wallace sent Darwin an essay describing the idea of natural selection. So, they did a joint presentation of their scientific papers to the Linnean Society of London in July of 1858 by the names of "On the Tendency of Species to form Varieties"; and "On the Perpetuation of Varieties and Species by Natural Means of Selection."

    On the Origin of Species
On the Origin of Species was Charles Darwin's most famous book ever written. When published the book sold out in a matter of days. Darwin’s theory argued that organisms gradually evolve through a process he called “natural selection.” In natural selection, organisms with genetic variations that suit their environment tend to propagate more descendants than organisms of the same species that lack the variation, thus influencing the overall genetic makeup of the species.
