    Charles Darwin was born in Shrewsbury, England and his nationality is British. He was the second youngest of six children. Darwin was born into a wealthy family.

    Darwin's Mother Dies
    Darwins mother died when he was eight years old. After that, his siters had to take care of him. She started showing signs have having an ulcer or stomache cancer and became very ill. She passed away in 1817 (Whye).

    At the age of eight, Charles Darwin went to a boarding school. His brother also attended the school with him. Darwin's father didn't mind having him be into exploring as long as he was educated in other classes such as Latin and Greek. While attending, Darwin didnt find much interest there, he preferred to watch birds and collect beetles. He also liked to perfrom chemisrty experiments in a shed with his brother. (Gardner ).

    Missionaries, shipmasters, printers, traders, and Chief Ke'eaumoku witnessed the first print in Hawaii. The printer printed wet, black symbols in the Hawaiin and English language. Elisha Loomis brought over the printer from New York in 1820. This will contribute to the Hawaiin islands by being able to write and send a message ("The First Printing Press").

    Charles went to more than one colleges. The first being Edinburgh. His dad sent him along with his brother to study medicine. Darwin didn't enjoy studying it and hated the sight of blood and once walked out during an operation. Classes he did like were his theatrical chemistry class and Robert Jameson's lectures on zoology and geology. He came back for a second year and hated it even more (Brown).

    Charles Darwin made his first discovery at the age of eighteen. While walking along the coast with one his most important mentors at Edinburgh, Robert Grant he made observations which led to a discovery. He discovered the sea mat Flustra larvae move by cilia. Grant taught him how to make observations which made him lead to this discovery. (Brown).

    HMS Beagle Sets Sail
    Charles Darwin set sail on the HMS Beagle to explore and study nature. The Beagle reached one of its destinations, South America, at the end of February in 1832, about two months after it left. When he reached South America, he spent most of his time on the land studying organisms. He would then draw his findings in his notebook. When he went further into Argentina to dig for bones and fossils he witnessed human abuse such as slavery ("Beagle Voyage").

    In February of the year 1832, the Beagle crosses the equator. Darwin and his crew had a party to celebrate it. His crew blinfolded him and put him on the plank as a joke but it was not acceptable because of the captain (Beagle Voyage).

    After exploring Argentina, Darwin and his crew headed to the Galapagos Islands. When he arrived, Darwin found many species. He studied different birds, plants, and other animals there. One animal that intrigued him was the Galapagos tortoise. He was fascinated by the size of them and couldn't resist taking a ride on one. Also, he was interested in a certain type of iguana that swam in the water. When he observed the stomach of one, the only food in it's stomach was seeweed ("Beagle Voyage").

    This war was between the French and Mexicans. President Manuel Gomez Pedraza had overthrown the previous president. This had caused a lot of controversy throughout the citizens and led to fighting. Property was destroyed. A french citizen claimed his shop had been ruined by mexican looters during the period of fighting. He seeked help from the French King. He sent a fleet of ships to Mexico and blocked off the ports and then the Mexicans declared war on French. (Minster).
  • First Telegram Was Sent

    First Telegram Was Sent
    While standing in the chambers of the Supreme Court Samuel Morse sent the first telegram. Morse has sent it to his assistant Albert Vail who was in Baltimore. When Vail recieved it, he sent it back to Morse which caused a great deal of comotion to move throughout the people. The telegram had read "What hath God wrought". The telegraph was a huge jump in the eorld of technology and marks the beginning of a new era of communication (Madrigal).

    James Buchanan was the fifteenth president of the United States. He was born in Cove Gap, Pennsylvania in 1791. He served during the run up to the Civil War. He was unable to stop the southern states move forward. Before he became president he was an elected member of the federalist party in the Pennsylvania House of Representitives. Also, Andrew Jackson had sent him to Russia and after returning he won a seat as the Senate of Democrat. ("James Buchanan").

    Darwin Publishes "The Origin of the Species"
    Darwin's book is an outline of his theory of natural selection. After a short period of time, the book was a best seller. This book was made while he was on his voyage around the world. It talks about natural selection and evolution and how he thought it worked (Charles Darwin and On the Origin of Species).

    Lincoln was assassinated during a play. This play was called "Our American Cousin". He was killed by John Wilkes Booth. Booth wanted revenge on Lincoln for the things he thought he had caused. Booth thought Lincoln caused all the illnesses in the south. Also, he was againest everything that Lincoln stood for. Lincoln was againest slavery while he liked the idea of slavery.     Fifteeth Amendment Passed
    The fifteenth amendment grants the right for African American men to vote. Although this amendement was passed, it wasnt until about a century later that is was actually recongized. Certain practices were used to help prevent the african americans to vote, especially in south. ("Fifteenth Amendment of the Constitution").

    Charles Darwin died in Downe, Kent, England. He is buried Westminster Abbey, City of Westminster, United Kingdom. It was said that he died from heart failure and had symptoms like angina pectoris.
