Hitler announced that he was rebuilding the German air force, reinstating the draft, and rearming the nation. He said it was only for defense. The reason people allowed him to do was because of appeasement -
Reading 2: Taking Austria
This now allowed Mussolini to invade Ethiopia with the backing of Germany. It also helped with Germany taking over Austria. Hitler felt he needed to take back Austria because he felt that the Germany people were entitled to it. -
Reading 4: Appeasing Hitler
They allowed Hitler the Sudetenland so that he would not go to war. The other countries did not want to go to war since they were all hurt and did not want to lose anymore. They gave him the territories to keep him quiet so he does not start a war. Czechoslovakia was mad that they gave up territory with no day in it. -
Reading 14: Targeting Poland
They dressed Jews up in Polish Amy uniforms and killed them t make it look like that they were real officers trying to invade Germany, but were gunned down. Germany did this as an excuse to start war with them. They wanted the land because they felt the Aryans were good enough to have it and they were entitled to it after losing it in World War I -
Reading 15: Conquest in the East

Reading 17: Conquest in the West
He now controlled all of Western-Europe except Great Britain. This lead to Churchill become Prime Minister of Great Britain. He only conquered the west because he wanted too. He conquered the east so that he could build himself up to prepare to take over the west. -
Reading 18: The Invasion of Russia
They wanted to invade Russia because it had Slavs, Jews, and Communist. Hitler disliked all of theses groups and for one country to have all three made him want ti take it over. They considered this groups "an enemy of the state", which gave Hitler the right to kill them all. -
Reading 19: The United States Enters the War
By doing so he united Great Britain, Soviet Union, and the United States together although they would usually not work together. They all wanted to defeat him because he was causing a lot of damage. At first they did not want a war because of appeasement, but now it has completely changed.
