    -Sir Henry Bessemer invented and patented the Bessemer Process in 1856.
    -The Bessemer process turned Iron into steel which is stronger and more resistant to corrosion.
    -The Bessemer Process was the first way for steel to be mass produced cheaply.
    -The Bessemer Process allowed the steel industry to take off.
    -Steel allowed for many new things to be built like skyscrapers.

    Inventions affects on life
    -Thomas Edisons first proficient light bulb lit the way for inventions in the late 1800s
    -Christopher Sholes invented the typewriter in 1867
    -Alexander Graham Bell And Thomas Watson invented the telephone in 1876
    -Inventions opened up more jobs for men and women
    -working conditions improved

    Rockefeller and Robber Barons
    -Rockefeller owned Standard Oil Co. and in 1870 he controlled two-thirds of the market.
    -Rockefeller paid his employees extremely low wages.
    -Rockefeller lowered his price of gas lower than what it cost to produce to put other companies out of business. Then he would increase the price of gas to make huge profits.
    -Many people began to call people like Rockefeller Robber Barons due to their business tactics.
    -Rockefeller kept most of his money, but gave away $500 Million to many foundations.

    -In 1876 Tomas Edison became a pioneer on the new industrial frontier.
    -Edison perfected the incandescent light bulb
    -With the invention with the light bulb, Edison invented a new system for producing and distributing electricity.
    - George Washington and Thomas Edison made innovations that would make electricity much safer and less expensive.
    -This also made it appear in machines and also became an item found in houses.

    -Railroads provided jobs
    -Railroads allowed people to see the world without as much trouble traveling
    -Railroads united the states
