The Second Saturday Surprise
Hitler had invaded the Rhineland which had been set aside by the Treaty of Versailles. He did this because he knew that France did not want another war so he knew they would just leave. -
Invation of Austria
Hitler invaded Austria and forced the president to ressign from his position. Other countries didnt go to their defense because they felt that Austria was not worth fighting over. -
Czechoslovakia
In 1939 many germans funding the Nazis agitated for a return to the reich. in the summer of 1939 Hitler decided to announce that he will take Czechoslovakia. The one thing he was afraid of were their allies of France and Russia. France denied protecting Czechoslovakia and the Russians did said they would sent troops but the refuse to accept them because they thought it would create to much tension so eventually Hitler would take over Czechoslovaia when they had not backup -
Invading Poland
On August 31, 1939 Nazis took a group of inmates from one of their concentration camps to Gleiwitz. They then dressed the inmatesin Polish army uniforms and killed them. The next day the Army of Germany and the SS marched into Poland and claimed it was in retaliation of an attack in Gleiwitz. -
Order for Polish Children
Himmler ordered in May that for he people in the East who are Non-German they will not go beyond the grade four and will only learn the ways of the Nazis, arithmatic to 500 and write their name. Polish Children of any Aryan features were shipped to German. They went to school like any other German child who was Aryan. The boys were raisd to be soldiers and the the girls for motherhood. -
Occupied Europe
In 1940 Hitler had control of all of Western Europe excluding Britain. This is the date that Hitler had gained control of France being the last mainland Western European country to possible be captured. During the occupation of thr countries, the nations leaders exiled governments in London and hoped for the soon freedom of their countries. -
Netherlands Protest
In 1941 the gentiles in the Netherlands tiik a stand to support the Jews. It had stopped all movement of Jews for a little will. Once the Nazis ended the strike they began the Mass Deportation of the Jews. -
Invasion of Russia
On this date Hitler had ordered the invasion of Russia to exterminate the rest of the Jewish-Bolshevik menace. When Hitler sent the army to invade he had also sent 4 SS units behind them to different parts of the front. When they had invaded the order was to kill anyone who was an enemy of the state. -
Pearl Harbor
On the 7th of December Pearl Harbor of the US was attacked by Japan. They had bombed the Hawiian naval bases killing many people and destroying many shippes and planes. The next day the US declared war on the Japanese. -
Germany declares war on US
On the 9th of December, two days after Pearl Harbor, Germany declared war on the US. They did this because the US had declared war on Japan and Japan was their ally. Becasue of this, the Japanes ambassador to Germany asked them for support so they declared war.
