Common Sense was written in 1776. Thomas Paine was the author of the pamphlet. The purpose of it was to convince people to fight for independence in there lands. It was a success because the pamphlet got people to join the Revolutionary War. -
Declaration Of Independence
John Adams, Benjiman Franklin, John Hancock, and Sameul Adams signed the Declaration Of Independence for freedom and independence for there land. The Preamble is the introduction of the Decloration Of Independence. Article one is about the legislative branch. The legilative branch is about making the laws for our country. -
Retreat From New York
The British fought the Americans. The British slowly followed the Americans up northto the North Plains. It took them all but 10 days to get there.Then were traped so Washington retreated. Nathan Hale was the first spy. It was not good for the Americans. -
Crossing The Deleware 1776
Washington led 2,400 men to attack to city of Trenton. The German mercinaries were guarding the front. The British drove the Americans out of Brooklyn. -
The Battle Of Saratoga 1777
There goal was to cut New England colonies off from the rest. The three parts of there plans were from Canada 8,000 move south capturing forts along the way, from the west a smaller force would go through Mohawk Valley, from the south General Howe would lead a large Army up the Hudson. King George ordered3 Howe to take south from new york instead. The Americans won. -
Help From Overseas 1777
They wanted to know that the Americans could win before they joined to them.France and America made an aliance together. He was Military Officer and came to George Washington's army and helped train soldiers for the Continental Army. -
Valley Forge Winter 1777-1778
Valley Forge was in Pennsylvania. They were camped a couple miles from were e the Continental Army was. The conditions at Valley Forge for the Americans were terrible because they were in the cold at freezing tempetures. A lot of people died over that winter from the cold. They started building huts in Feburary with fire places to stay warm -
Defending The Frontier 1778
There were a lot of volunteers that defended the frontier. Yes they did have success because they captured two fortified settlements and captured hundreds of prisoners. -
Spain joins the fight 1779-1781
They controlled the Louisiana territory and Spain's Carribean. They wanted territory by Spain back. They provided aid to them. Spanish was the second official laguage. -
British Advance South
They captured two Philedelphia and South Carolina. Guerrilla tactics are basically hit and runs were they kill little by little then keep on going. Francis Marion was a military officer who fought in the Revolutionary War. They were getting recruited to be on the local patriots side.
