In this day, Poland gets invaded by Germany with a surprise attack. Bombs were thrown on Poland, Warsaw, and they were tanks and troops surrounding the border.

Battle of Britain
Allies finally realized that Hitler could be stopped because right after the Battle of Britain, he decided to call off his attacks. Germans were avoiding RAFs attacks.

Operation Barbarossa
Hitler proceeds with his plan of invading the Soviet Union. Sadly, Hitler´s plan was not well planned and they were not prepared for the cold weather that was awaiting them. The non-aggression pact was broken and it proved that Germany was not going to stop for anything.

Battle of Guadalcanal
The Battle of Guadalcanal is when the American Marines got to Guadalcanal with the help of Australia. The war lasted 6 months and it was both on land and water. After Japan surrendered it became a victory for the allies.

Normandy D-Day: Operation Overload
It was when American, French, British and Canadian troops fought 60 miles in the beach of Normandy. The Germans were hiding in concrete walls, but after a month more troops had joined in and in September, the Allies were succesful and they were able to liberate France, Belgium, and Luxemburg.

Yalta Conference
This was an important conference that took place in a Russian resort. The U.S. president, Prime Minister WInston Churchill, Franklin D. Roosevelt, and Joseph Stalin were all present and they were deciding what will happen after the war.

War in the Pacific
Japan and U.S. were at war in the pacific. The island in which they settled was approximately 350 miles away from Japan. Since in this war Japan lost a lot of troops, it helped the U.S. get closer in winning the war.

On this date, General Eisenhower surrendered. This led to the ending of this war.

Nagaski Bombed
This was the second bomb that the U.S. dropped. Instantly, 70,000 people were killed, but many more were killed afterwards because of the radiation. This led to the Japanese finally surrending.
