Japan invaded China by exploding a railroad train in Manchuria. The Japanese made it seem as if it were a Chinese plot, then they took over Manchuria and continued on deeper into China. -

These laws legally took away Jews' citizenship & banned marriage between Jews and other Germans. -

Italy invaded Ethiopia and was able to capture their capital Addis Ababa in the spring of 1936. -
Remilitarization of The Rhineland
Hitler ordered troops to go into the Rhineland (which was on the border of Germany and France). This broke the statement in the Versailles treaty that stated that the Rhineland would remain demilitarized. -
The Spanish Civil War
Army officers led by Francisco Franco launched an attack on republican government in Madrid. Citizens fought for the republic while Hitler & Mussolini sent in troops to help Franco. Franco and his side ended up winning the war. -
Rape of Nanjing
The Japanese attacked the Chinese and massacred hundreds of thousands of Chinese citizens. -
Anschluss
The unification of German and Austria by Hitler annexing Austria. Austrians did not resist Hitler's take-over. In fact, they were overjoyed by this Anschluss. Hitler ended up giving many people jobs which made the public even more happy to have Hitler in control. -
Munich Conference & Appeasement
Britain, France and Italy met & decided to let Germany have their Sudetenland. They were using appeasement to avoid war.
