The Army-McCarthy Hearings
After Junior Senator McCarthy placed fear into Americans with McCarthyism, the fear of communism, and charging the army for having communists he was charged by the army for seeking special treatment for his aide. The hearings wear televised for the whole nation to see. During the hearings, both sides went back and forth until June 1954. By the end of the hearings, Senator McCarthy had lost all of his main supporters which were his strongest supporters. -
The Launch of Sputnik
After the Soviet Union's successful development of the intercontinental ballistic missiles or ICBM's the soviets decided to use one of their rockets to launch sputnik into space which spread out the technology gap between the soviets and the United States.
