Cezar Chavez was born on March 31, 1927. He was named after his grandfather Cezario.

Cezar and his family moved to California. He lived in La Colina Barrio in Oxnard for a short period of time. But later he Moved back to Arizona after staying in California for several months.

Cezar Chavez retuned back to California setteling this time in San Jose. They lived in the barrio called Sal Puedes "Get out is you can"

Cesar graduated from 8th grade but his father, LIbrado, Had been in an accident. He didnt want his mother to work in the yard so he didnt go to highschool so he could become a farm worker.

Cesar joind the U.S. Navy and served for 2 years.

Cesar married Helena Fabela. They honeymooned in California by visiting the California MIssions frome Sononma to San Diego. They settled in Delano and started their family.

Chavez joins the Community Service Organization (CSO) in San Jose, Calif., and becomes an organizer in the Mexican American community, spearheading voter registration drives and fighting racial and economic discrimination.

Chavez becomes executive director of the CSO, and moves to its headquarters in Los Angeles

Cesar found The National Farm Workers Association, later named The United Farm Workers. Also is wehn Richard Chaves desgined the eagle and cesar chose the colors.

The farm workersand supporters carried banners, 340 miles from Delano to Sacramento, with the black eagle with HUELGA (strike) and VIVA LA CAUSA (long live the cause). The marchers wanted the state government to pass laws which would permit farm workers to organize into a union and allow collective bargaining agreements. Cesar made people aware of the struggles of farm workers for better pay and safer working conditions.
