Did WWI Cause WWII WWI depeleted many countries money and resourses. This caused countries, mostly Germany, to do things they normally would not have done, and the crazy things countries and dicatators did after WWI were part of the reason WWII happened. -
Bolshevik Rebelion
On this day the socialist Bolshevik rebels headed by Vladimir Ilyich Lenin ovethrew the government headed by Alexander Kerensky. Even before this the Russian Czar Nicholas II was overthrown by Kerensky's provisional governemt in March 1917. This rapid shift of government in Russia rattled the Russian people and scared leaders of other countries into thinking that they would be taken over. -
Treaty of Versailles
Covenent of The Legue Of Nations The treaty of Versailles was a major cause of WWII. It had Germany assume full blame for the war, and it made Germany pay massive reparations anually. It also limited the size of the German military and limited the amount of land Germany had. This caused Germany to strike like a connered animal 20 years later. -

Great Depression
The Great Depression was a global colapse of the economy. This of course caused countries to have huge poverty and unemployment. People of these countries looked for leadership and help. This is one reason why Hittler and Mussolini came to power. -
Hitler Becomes Chancellor of Germany
First Speech as Chancellor The German people are in such a bad position that they need one powerfull person to lead them and save them from poverty. This person is Adolf Hitler. He tells them he will make Germany powerfull and make their lives better. He was very good at giving speeches, and he was so convincing that the German people could not see that he was a mad man. -
London Conference
This was a meeting of 66 nations in London. The purpose of the meeting was to fix the global depression by global cooperation. Roosevelt did not support it though because of the idea of stabilizing currency exchange rates. The conference failed mostly because the US did not support it. -
McDuffie Act
Mcduffie ActThis act gave the Philippines their independence. It still gave the US the ability to have military forces at the Philippines, but it limited the amount after the Philippines transitioned into governing themselves. This helped Japan in WWII a few years later because there was no longer a strong US presense in the Western Pacific. -
Hitler Becomes Alies with Japan and Italy
This shows that war is about to happen when three major powers become allies and lay claim to the land they will recieve after the war. Germany lays calim to Europe. Italy lays claim to the mediteranian and Northern Africa, and Japan lays calim to the Pacific and Eastern Asia. This shows how much the leaders of these countries desire land and power. -
Germany Marches into Austria
Hitlers forces march into Austria. The Austrian leader Kurt von Schuschnigg was forced to hold a vote to see if Austria wanted to become part of the German empire. A majority of Austrians voted to become part of the empire probably because they spoke German and had a similare backround. They also probably voted yes because the country would have been bullied by Hitler if they didn't. -
USSR and Germany Have a Non- Agression Pact
This pact allowed Hitler to start becomeing extremly agressive without the fear of Russia stopping him. It allowed him to invade poland without Russian resistance in September of 1939, and this is what started WWII.
