  • Japanese Invasion of Manchuria

    Japanese Invasion of Manchuria
    On September of 1939, the Japanese invaded Manchuria. Japan had become over populated and Manchuria had enough space for the Japanese to spread out. China's first reaction was to ask the League of Nations to help remove Japan out of China. But since the league of nations couldn't do anything about it, their credibility was shattered and showed that they had little power over global community.

  • Germany's Rearmament

    Germany's Rearmament
    Adolf Hitler announced that he would rearm Germany in violation of the Treaty of Versailles. Hitler revealed that Germany had begun to construct an air force, and unveiled plans to create a German army of more than half a million men. Britain, France, Italy, and the League of Nations all disagreed with Hitler’s decision,but didn't do anything to penalize Germany.

    It began after an attempted overthrow against the government of the Second Spanish Republic, then under the leadership of president Manuel Azaña, by a group of Spanish Army generals under leadership of Francisco Franco. This was an opportunity for Hitler to test weapons for ww2 but there ended up being a conflict between Francisco and Hitler and Hitler kind of turned against Franco.

    On this day, Hitler announced his union with Austria. The president of Austria hoped that with them joining Hitler, in would prevent an invasion.     Invasion Of Poland

    The invasion of Poland precipitated World War II. The invasion of Poland had been executed by Nazi Germany, Although France had declared war on Germany once Germany had begun its assault on Poland. During the invasion of Poland, Germany was also able to try out the Blitzkrieg as a military tactic, which demolished Poland and allowed Hitler to conquer Poland in a very short period of time. When the tactic of the Blitzkrieg had hit the world, Hitler gained an upper hand in Military.

    Ethiopia

    Benito Mussolini had adopted Adolf Hitler's plans to expand German territories by invading Abyssinia (now Ethiopia). The aim of invading Ethiopia was to boost Italian national prestige, which was wounded by Ethiopia's defeat of Italian forces at the Battle of Adowa. Mussolini saw it as an opportunity to provide land for unemployed Italians and also acquire more mineral resources to fight off the effects of the Great Depression.
