The Treaty of Versailles was a treaty created my the allied countries, Canada,Britian,France and the United States, Which Punished the Germans for "Causing" World War 1. The treaty was a list of punishments that Germany had to undergo, Including Paying up 30 Billion dollars (money Germany did not have) and limiting the German army to 100,000 foot soldiers. -

All of the money was sloely becoming more and more worthless until even the paper the money was on was worth more, and burning it for heat was better than purchasing foods with it. -

Hitler and the Nazi party prepared to take advantage of the emergency to gain support for their party. The party promised to get rid of the Versailles Treaty, strengthen the economy, and provide jobs for Germans. The Stock market Crash was the start of the Great Depression. -

In October, Germany made another move breaking the treaty annexing part of Sudetenland, British/French leaders tried to negotiate with Hitler, and Hitler promised that he wouldnt invade the rest of Czechoslovakia. A promise he broke. -

On September 1st, 1939 Germany invaded Poland. This time France and Britian reacted right away and ordered Germany out of Poland by September 3rd. Germany ignored that deadline and France and Britain declared war.
