A war between the British Empire and the Chinese Empire in which China lost. As a consequence, China was forced to unequal treaties and was left into several European influences. -
Taiping Rebelion
It had two objectives; political and religious purposes. It was focused on attacking the Quing dynasty. It lasted 14 years. -
Self Strengthening Movement
A response towards external influences in China that had Chinese people tired of their unequal treatment and disrepect. -
First Sino-Japanese War
War for controlling Korea. Japan crushed China, leading into disgust from Chinese people towards Quing dynasty. -
Boxer Rebellion
Anti foreign influences rebellion, it was more of a right wing rebellion, searchig to erradicate external influences. -
Double Tenth Revolution
Revolution that ended the Quing dynasty, establishing a New Republic in China. Most of the provinces declared independent form Beijing. -
May Fourth Movement
Students protested against the Treaty of Versailles since Cina was left over and perjudicated, such as if it was unnoticed by Japanese abuses. -
First United Front
The CCP and the GMD created an alliance in order to attack and destroy the Warlords that ruled China throughout many years of inestability. -
Shanghai Massacre
The GMD breaks The United front treaty and attacks all communsit supporters and politicians, making a huge massacre that led to the CCP running and hiding away in the mountains.
