The French And Indian War Ends
Also known as The Seven Years War. It was fought over the ohio river valley. This resulted in the virtual expulsion of the french in North America. It also resulted in the taxing of monetary losses. -
Sugar Act
An act modified from the Sugar And Molasses act, which was about to expire. It made every one else in America to pay 3 cents on sugar. It also increased tax on indigo, coffee, and wine. The british gov. did not ask permission to pass the act. Most colonists did not agree/like what the british government did to them. -
The Stamp Act
The new act taxed every piece of paper, or printed paper that they used. The money was collected to use the money for the frontier near the Appalachian Mountains. It did not offend the colonists much, what offended them the most, was the standard that they set. -
Townshend Acts
originated by Charles Townshend and passed by the English Parliament shortly after the repeal of the Stamp Act. They were designed to collect revenue from the colonists in America by putting customs duties on imports of glass, lead, paints, paper, and tea. Some colonists protested against the taxes. -
The Boston Massacre
The Boston Massacre was the killing of five colonists by British regulars on March 5, 1770. The british also killed many innocent colonists during the slaughter/massacre. -
Boston Tea Party
Samuel Adams and the Sons of Liberty boarded three ships in the Boston harbor and threw 342 chests of tea overboard. It served mainly as a prostest against all the taxing, that Britian was doing against the colonies. -
Intolerable Acts
The government spent immense sums of money on troops and equipment in an attempt to subjugate Massachusetts. -
Lexington And Concord
Lexington And Concord is a battler where they were supposed to capture Sam Adams, and John Hancock. -
The American Revolution
700 British troops, on a mission to capture Patriot leaders and seize a Patriot arsenal, march into Lexington to find 77 armed minutemen under Captain John Parker waiting for them on the town's common green. -
Bunker Hill
the British defeated the Americans at the Battle of Bunker Hill in Massachusetts. Despite their loss, the inexperienced colonial forces inflicted significant casualties against the enemy, and the battle provided them with an important confidence boost.
