    The French and Indian war was fought between the French and the British in North Aamerica. It started in 1754 and lasted until1763. Most of the Indians sided with the French, and the Colonist sided with the British. The two sides fought over the Ohio River Valley.The close ties the Colonist had with there mother country would make it so muh harder for what is to come. In the end the Bristish were triumphant, but left with tremendous war debut.

  • Treaty of Paris

    Treaty of Paris
    The Treaty of Paris was signed in Paris,France on September 3,1763. This was the offical end to the French and Indian war. In the end the British won, and the Treaty of Paris stated their winnings. The British got all French land in North America east of the Mississippi River and Spain got all land west. This included the Ohio River Valley. The British would not allow the coloinst to move into the land they just fought for, in fear of starting costly conflict.Which the British couldn't afford.

    Between 1763 and 1775 Britian issued a series of taxes on the American colonies. The taxiation was due to the debut built up from the French and Indian War. Colonist beleived that tax laws violated the Magna Carta. The colonist were infuriated that England tried to put all the blame on them for the war,

    The Stamp Act was passed by the British Parliament on March 22, 1765. The new tax was imposed on all American colonists and required them to pay a tax on every piece of printed paper they used. The colonist were extremly upset and this is one of the most well known taxes placed on the colonist in American History

    The Boston Massacre was a street fight that occurred on March 5, 1770, between a "patriot" mob, throwing snowballs, stones, and sticks, and a squad of British soldiers. Several colonists were killed. The Boston Massacre was a signal event leading to the Revolutionary War.

    The Tea Act gave a monopoly on tea sales to the East India Company. The Tea Act lowered the price on East India tea so much that it was below tea from other suppliers. But the American colonists saw this law as yet another means of "taxation without representation" because it meant that they couldn't buy tea from anyone else.

    The Sons of liberty formed in Boston in the early summer of 63'. It consists of a group of shopkeepers and artisans who called themselves The Loyal Nine. They began preparing for agitation against the Stamp Act. As the group grew, it became known as the Sons of Liberty. Their most popular objective was to force Stamp Distributors throughout the colonies to resign.

    The Boston Tea Party took place on a cold night, December 16, 1773. A group of massachusetts patriots dressed up as natives and climbed onto a British ship. They were angry about the Tea Act so they threw 342 chests of tea into the Boston harbor off of three tea ships.

    The Intolerable Acts are passed
    The Intolerable Acts were passed as a punishment to Boston. They were passed March 24, 1774 and became effective on June 2, 1774. The Intolerable Acts helped bond the colonies together. They joined together in boycotting against British goods. This prepared the colonies for the war with the British, and to declare independance.
  • The Battle of Lexington and Concord

    The Battle of Lexington and Concord was the first battle of the American Revolution. It took place April 19, 1775. The British troops were to march to Lexington to seize Sam Adams and John Hancock. Then they would march to Concord to seize gunpowder. Paul Revere heard of the British's plan to seize and set out to warn the countryside.
