My favourite childhood show wasn't to be shown in Australia till many years later and I remember watching it at my neighbours house on their colour televison as it was so much better than our black and white one. -
Colour television
When we moved from Sydney to Darwin my parents must of gotten finacially looked after from their employers as we immedietly purchased our very own colour televison, Seseme Street was never going to be the same! -
Atari
My dad gave my sister and I an Atari console along with state of the art games such as bowling, space invaders and centipede. -
My first CD!
I received Micheal Jacksons "Dangerous" compact disc for Christmas. The only real problem with this was that I only owned a cassette tape player... -
Disneyland!!
My dreams came true when my dad took my sister and I all the way from Darwin to LA to visit Disneyland. The airconditioning on the long distance flight gave me the worst chapped lips of my life! Luckily, upon arrival my dad purchased me a cherry cola flavoured lipbalm. -
Moved to Adelaide
Left sunny Darwin on a 747 Ansett plane to move to Adelaide with my dad. -
Left the nest
My full time job as a cashier at Hungry Jacks earned me a whopping $5.37 per hour which gave me the funds to leave the nest -
my first mobile phone
I purchased my very first mobile phone, a state of the art Phillips Savvy. Not many of my friends had one by this stage so texting was non existent. -
Y2K fail
The world continued on as normal after the Y2K bug failed to disrupt the worlds electricity supply. -
Got my drivers licence
After a very long time of being chauffered by others I finally took the plunge and became a driver -
Moved to Gold Coast
Packed up all my valuables such as my favourite jacket and my cd collection and put it in the car. Using a very very large street directory and a credit card I made my way to the Gold Coast. -
Left to travel
Left to work overseas to work on the state of the art cruise ship 'Crysatl Serenity". It utalised digital technologies such as it's live streaming to computers via 3 on board cameras, touchless hand sanitation methods and its very own teleivision channel. -
La Sagrada Familias
Went to Barcelona to buy a guitar and to see Gaudis La Sagrada Familia as it inspires awe by its sheer verticality, and in the manner of the medieval cathedrals it emulates, it’s still under construction after more than 100 years. When completed, the highest tower will be more than half as high again as those that stand today. -
BRISTOL!!
Stayed with a friend in Bristol so I could check out the local Drum & Bass music scene. I also got to see this cool bridge! -
Got my new chipped drivers licence
My drivers lincence changed from the library card looking piece of laminated plastic to the chipped card which holds digital information about me. -
Chase was born
My son Chase was born with his cord around his neck so the hospital organised an oxgen tank to be in the room just in case. -
Created an online timeline
Using the free program 'timetoast' I created a collection of events from my life that have utilised digital technologies. -
Took photos for food technology
Using my iphone camera and the free app InstaFrame I was able to compile a collage of photos to submit for a university assignment. -
Moved from the nest
Had a great start to the work force with a full time job at Hungry Jacks working the cash register. The $5.37 per hour proved to be enough for me to move out of home.
