Castiel chooses to disobey his orders because he no longer thinks that it is the right thing to do as the humans will die. -
Castiel dies to prevent Lucifer's rising
Castiel dies holding off Raphael so that Dean can stop his brother Sam from breaking the last seal that prevents Lucifer from rising and bringing the apocalypse. -
Castiel becomes human
Castiel gives up his angle status to save Sam and Dean whilst trying to stop Michael. -
Castiel Dies to save the world
Castiel dies to enable Sam enough time to regain control of his body and defeat Lucifer. He does this by sending Michael away temporarly using a holy fire. This action leads to his death when Lucifer kills him. -
Castiel raises Sam
Castiel went into Lucifers cage which was a difficault task in order to rescue Sam from eternal torture which he didn't deserve. -
Stops Raphael
