    The Nye Committee Ruling
    The Nye Committee Ruling was a group of meetings that spanned from 1934 to 1936 in which an investigation was made into the armament industry. There was evidence that the armament industry had made so much profit and benefited so much from World War I that they might have planned to get the United States involved in the first World War. Although the committee was not able to take the armament industry in government control they were able to inspire different acts that produced change in the USA.
  • The Neutrality Acts

    The Neutrality Acts
    From 1935 to 1937 three acts were passed known as "The Neutrality Acts". These Acts were passed in hopes of making sure that America would be kept out of war. These acts made it illegal for any American to sell or transport military weapons and arms to other nations. The Americans believed that a large reason that America was in World War I was because of the armament industry and in a plan to keep America out of future wars they decided to attack this issue first.
  • Hemispheric Defense Zone

    Hemispheric Defense Zone
    The Hemispheric Defense Zone was created in 1938. It was created because at the time America was still neutral in the war and could not help defend Britain. However by creating the Hemispheric Defense Zone made a law that would allow America to provide military to Britain while still remaining neutral and expanding its role in the war.

    Start of WWII
    World War 2 began on September 1st of 1939. America was at first convinced to stay out of the war for as long as they could. They did not want to intervene especially after seeing the horrors of World War 1. However, by the middle of the second world War America had decided to intervene not only to protect itself from Japan but also to help the other countries that were suffering. This would be the beginning of America turning to interventionism.

    Destroyers for Bases
    Destroyers for Bases was a deal created between America and the UK in 1940. This was a deal that would give the USA access to Western Hemisphere to protect it from Nazi attacks. While this did largely protect the United States from any possible attacks it also protected Great Britain and a few other places. This is a part of interventionism because the USA was intervening on behalf of themselves and other countries for protection against Nazi Germany.
  • Lend-Lease Act

    Lend-Lease Act
    The Lend-Lease Act was an act which would allow the United States of America to led or lease but not sell war supplies to other countries that the USA thought were important for the defense of the United States itself. This allowed the United States to send supplies to allies in World war 2. This was huge for interventionism because it went against the Neutrality Acts which were trying to keep the USA out of war.

    The Atlantic Charter
    The Atlantic Charter was a statement made in 1941. This statement made it clear how America and Britain felt against the Axis powers. It also set up an idea of what President Roosevelt wanted America and the world to look like after the official end of world War Ii. This was essential to interventionism because it set up the place for America to enter the war and a few months after the Atlantic Charter was released America did enter World War II.
  • Pearl Harbor Attack

    Pearl Harbor Attack
    On December 7th of 1941 Pear Harbor in Hawaii was attacked by the Japanese. This was a direct attack on American land which led America to soon after declare war on Japan and officially enter world War II. This was the event that ended America's history of isolationism and led to interventionism. America had intervened into World War Ii now ans would do anything to stop Japan, they would then enter the war in Europe and help defeat the Nazi's.
