After Lexington, the British marched to Concord. The Americans waited on the outskirts of Concord. The Americans got more miltiamen to make there force stronger. The Americans defeated the British troops, which gave they more confidence. After that, the British retreated. -

The Battles of Lexington and Concord were the first military combats of the American Revolutionary War. The British were on their way to Concord and were stoped at Lexington by the Americans. The Battle of Lexington was a small fight, but it was where the Revolutinary War started. There were about 80 American militiamen waiting for the British. Neither side started to fight but a gunshot was heard and forced the British to attack. -
Battle of Bunker Hill
American troops were heading to Bunker Hill so they could bombard the town and British ships in the Boston Harbor. But, they went to Breed's Hill instead. The British took this as a threat. So, they attacked the Americans, though they Americans had canons and soldiers pointing down on the British. The Americans waited for them to get closer so they could get a clear shot. The British retreated 2 times. Then, on the third try, the British finally won because the Americans were low on ammunition. -
George Washington becoming CIC
George Washington became the Commander in Chief for the
George joined the Continental Congress as a delegate from Virginia. Following that, he was offered the role of commander in chief of the Continental Army by the Congress. He took command of Continental Army and eventually lead the army to key victories and got Great Britain to surrender in 1781. -
The Second Continental Congress
The Second Continental Congress was a group of delegates from all 13 colonies, they met in the summer of 1775, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. They made a Continental Army and made George Washington the General. Also, they sent the Olive Branch Petition to the King of Britain in attempt for peace. The Congress issued the Declaration of Independence that read the United States is an independent country from Britain. The colonists in Congress also passed the flag for official United States Flag. -
Declaration of Independence
The Declaration of Independence was a document announced that the 13 colonies are newly independent states and no longer a part of Great Britain. Thomas Jefferson wrote the whole thing and the Congress only made a few changes. John Adams was the first person the sign it and the largest signature. -
Treaty of Paris
The Treaty of Paris was the document that ended the American Revolutionary War, which was between Great Britain and the United States. It also ended the Seven Years War. Britain also took Canada from France.
