Carli Lloyd played in her first World Cup in 2007. It was a big point in her and Hope Solo's friendship. When Solo was pulled from playing in the semifinal against Brazil their friendship grew greatly. -

Engaged
Carli Lloyd got engaged to her high school sweetheart, Brian Hollins, in January after they had dated for 15 years. They kept the wedding off until after the 2016 Olympics. -

She had a mission to bring home the trophy for the first time in 16 years. No matter who her opponent was she was gonna win. They won the World Cup and took home the trophy with a 5-2 win over Japan. -

CONCACAF Women’s Player of the Year
She earned the CONCACAF Women's Player of the Year Award in 2016. She won against Brazil's Marta and Germany's Melanie Behringer for the award. -

In 2015 she won the CONCACAF Goal of the Year award. She had a really good goal. -

First to Score a Hat Trick in the World Cup
In her third World Cup, she became the 1st woman in FIFA Women’s World Cup to score a hat-trick in a final game. In the third minute, she scored her first goal. Two minutes later her second. Lastly, in the sixteenth minute of the game, she scored her third goal. -
