Mormon pioneers came through the canyon to Utah to find new life. -
Charles Hall
pioneered a route and diverted the hole-in-the-rock passage at Horris wash, that passed through capital reef. -
The church
One of the last colonies under church direction left to the far southeast corner of Utah to spread their church. -
Trails
They started to make trails in the park barely passable at Hickman Bridge. -
Ranger Residence
40 + men completed the ranger residence and camps through the park for tourists and hunters. -
Vandals
Camps throughout the park were burned by vandals. -
Water Pocket fold
The camps and land were expanded near the famous water pocket folds. -
Finally a park!
Capitol Reef national park was finally turned into a national park after years of being a famous monument in Utah.
