Hun Sen mounts a coup against the prime minister and is replaced by Ung Huot. -

Pol pot is sentenced to life in prison. -
Death
Pol Pot dies in his jungle hideout. -
Elections
Elections are won by Hun Sen and he becomes prime minister. -

A law is passed making a court to bring genocide charges to Khmer Rouge. -
