    Agreeing to Peace

    In 1991 a peace agreement is signed in Paris, France. The UN shares power temporarily
  • Cambodia wins over Independance

    It becomes the "Kingdom of Cambodia." according to King Sihanouk.
  • Sihanouk becoming Head of State

    Sihanouk's father dies in 1960, causing him to become the new head of state.
  • The Secret Bombing Campaign

    In 1969 the U.S began a "secret bombing" campaign against the Northern Vietnamese forces.
  • Lon Nol is Overthrown

    Sihanouk becomes head of state, but only for a short period of time. As he becomes head leader, the country is re-named Kampuchea.

    In January of 1979, Khmer Rouge and Phnom Penh are forced to flee the border of Thailand.

    In 1985, Hun Sen becomes the Prime Minister of Cambodia, and Cambodia is under a plague because of the guerrilla warfare, this causing thousands of people the become refugees.

    In 1991 a peace agreement was signed in Paris France, and a UN authority temporarily shares power with representatives from Cambodia.
  • Monarchy is Restored

    Sihanouk becomes king again, the country is named Kingdom of Cambodia again.
  • Pol Pot dies

    In 1998 Pol Pot dies in his house in the jungle
  • Campaign to Overthrow Pol Pot.

    CFF members accused of 2000 attack in Phnom Penh. They pledge to continue the campaign to overthrow Hun Sen.
  • Hun Sen is Re-elected.

    After the CPP makes a deal with the Funcinpec party, Hun Sen is officially re-elected the Prime Minister.
  • Ta Mok's Death.

    Ta Mok was one of the top leader's of the Khmer Rouge regime, and he died in July of 2006.
  • The Khmer Rouge Trials.

    Ranariddh is sentenced to 18 months in prison because he sold the Funcinpec party's headquarters.
  • Comorade Duch is Guilty.

    Comrade Duch is guilty of crimes against humanity and has to spend 35 years in jail.

    A protests in Phnom Penh over "contested" election results. The Parliament agrees to have a new five year term for Hun Sen.

    150,000+ Cambodian workers get to go home from neighbouring Thailand after rumors spread that the new military will break down on any illegal migrants.

    In 2015 Hun Sen has reached 30 years of being the Prime Minister.
