Birth
Born in the capital city of Uganda called Kampala. Joined my siblings who were very close in age therefore we could pass for a cohort. -
Elementary School in Uganda
Went to an elementary school where I participated in sciences, art, and sports. During this time I experienced my first major social status of being a student and the social role it brings such as the obligation of completing homework. -
Moved to Kenya
Got picked up at school and we drove to Kenya. After moving to Kenya I experienced what it means to have a complicated role set of transitioning being a brother, friend, and parent figure of the younger siblings. The role strain of being a parent figure conflicted with being a friend because being authoritative made it more difficult to connect to siblings as friends and thus a role conflict occurred. -
Moved to Canada
My biggest life event was landing in Canada. It was a surreal moment, we were welcomed/surprised by a huge crowd waving Canadian flags and simultaneously ambushed with many hugs and kisses from our parents. -
Elementary School in Canada
Attended my first Canadian social institution which was Arthur Ford. Here I excelled at sports such as soccer since it was my favourite hobby growing up. -
High-School
During high-school I experienced social norm because I was expected to behave a certain way. This pressure of being a good student and also the peer pressure that is enforced by the status quo. T -
Wheable
Currently at Wheable performing the social norm of accomplishing my tasks as a student.
