Brown vs. board of education paved the way for "civil rights". it was also established that "seperate educational facilities are inherently unequal".

Education for all handicapped children act

This act required all public schools accepting federal funds to provide equal access to education and one free meal a day for children with physical and mental disablilites.

No child left behind act

This act requires states to develop assessments in basic skills. To recieve federal school fundings, states must give these assessments to all students at select grade levels.

Reauthorization of individuals with disablilities education Act

Dec 3, 2004

This act stated that the act of 2004 will help children learn better by promoting accountablilty for results, enhancing parent involvement, using proven practices and materails and reducing paperwork burdens for teaachers.
