    The IDEA or Individuals with Disabilities Education Act was a law that allows a free public education with any sort of disabilities. It provides special education and support for the students in this program.

    This was passed by Gerald Ford in 1975. It provided students with disabilities, either mental or physical with all resources they needed for a scholastic success, as well as a free meal per day. IDEA built upon this foundation.

    The Standards Movement was placed to look at students standards. It demonstrated to educators what the students had to know at the specific grade level. It also determined the curriculum the teachers and students needed to meet.

    This act was passed through in 2001 and became a law by President George W. Bush. The No Child Left Behind Act was the goal of improving students education to succeeding. The law was made for schools to be aware and responsible for their students academic performance.
